About

I'm Thyra-Valeska, movement teacher and founder of Move in Serenity.

My journey with chronic discomfort, burnout, and eventually a late diagnosis of autism and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos-Syndrome led me to creating practices rooted in nervous system work and physical resilience.

I know how it feels being unable to move and exercise despite knowing its benefits. I know the struggle of juggling chronic pain and fatigue.

I learned how to read my own body to support it alongside my mental wellbeing.

My Background

  • BA International Culture & Business Studies (Passau)

  • MA Global Security (Sheffield)

  • MSc Global Crime Justice & Security (Edinburgh)

  • UN / OSCE / Bidaya - terrorism, extremism, & radicalisation prevention (NYC / Belgrade / Waren)

  • Corsearch / Cision - client management, marketing, & brand protection

My Approach

  • Functional, trauma-informed, neuro-inclusive and adaptive.

  • Rooted in Daoist principles.

  • Not one formula. Practical tools to help you understand your body and make informed choices about movement.

Rising in Strength

I'm trained in Daoist Flow, Rasa Yoga, Yin Yoga & TCM, Hatha, Vinyasa, Bhakti and more. Move in Serenity offers a holistic blend of Yoga, Qigong, and Somatic principles, guiding you toward embodied awareness and nervous system regulation.

Drawing from biomechanics, fascia theory, and trauma-informed principles, I offer mindful, functional practices, that can be tailored to those with hypermobility, neurodivergence, or anyone looking to reconnect to their body with care and mindfulness.
