About the Practice

Welcome to your personal journey towards more balance and peace, the feeling of serenity.

Move in Serenity offers a holistic blend of Yoga, Qigong, and Somatic principles, guiding you toward embodied awareness and nervous system regulation.

Drawing from biomechanics, fascia theory, and trauma-informed principles, I offer mindful, functional practices, that can be tailored to those with hypermobility, neurodivergence, or anyone looking to reconnect to their body with care and mindfulness.

Rooted in both modern movement science and Eastern traditions—including Hatha Yoga, Tantra, and Qigong—I weave together the somatic and energetic wisdom of the East with scientific insights from the West to create a space for ease, balance, and serenity, supporting you in moving through life with greater connection and presence.

Hi, I’m Thyra-Valeska

My movement journey began with yoga — until chronic pain and burnout disconnected me from my body entirely. What brought me back wasn’t force or discipline, but Qigong: a gentle, embodied practice that helped me rebuild trust in myself, and opened the door to a new path. It started informing my yoga practice, and changed my body awareness.

Working in high-pressure environments, striving to feel accomplished and finding my place in the world, I had learned to override my body’s signals. Years of pushing through and ignoring what my body kept trying to tell me led to deep fatigue, chronic pain, and a sense of disconnection so strong that even yoga became inaccessible.

I felt like a stranger in my own skin — physically drained, emotionally lost, and unsure how to return.

Around this time, I was diagnosed with Autism and hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) — insights that gave me long-awaited clarity and deeper self-understanding. It helped me reframe my experiences and begin the ongoing process of self-trust and nervous system regulation.

This journey led me to create Move in Serenity — a trauma-informed, fascia-conscious space where Yoga and Qigong meet somatic wisdom to invite gentle reconnection. My mission is to support others — especially those living with neurodivergence, hypermobility, stress-related disconnection, or burnout — toward self-empowerment, nervous system regulation, and a deeper connection with their physical and emotional bodies.
